cable tv and youtube eff my g.p.a.

last week i finally bought a) a long enough cable cord that will actually reach my tv and b) a cable splitter so i can have both internet and cable. now i can watch such quality channels as bravo and food...and shows where the following quotes are frequently uttered:
"shut it down/that's bananas/i die [make 'die' two syllables]"
"make it work/designers [overemphasize the first syllable]"
"make it bigger, make it better, make it awesome"
"giggidy-giggidy-goo"

and, this weekend i was introduced to the oh-so-fabulous 'auto tune the news'. search it on youtube, you will not be disappointed. my favorite has to be #8 because of "i have a chart, he has a chart, i have a chart, a dragon chart"

all i can say is...healthy, recreational-solitude therapy? ah well, here's to study buddies. and black coffee, not quite sure how black coffee has anything to do with this but it's nomlicious so it doesn't need a reason. hm, that reminds me, i need sugar. and chocolate cookies.

the owl in lab meeting

the lab, and lab meeting especially, is not something i will find myself missing in the years to come. that's not to say i haven't learned a lot and it won't help me in any way, it's just that research is not something i'm interested in...and this knowledge i can attribute to working in such a place. but one thing i shall always ponder on are the emotions of the plastic owl that has been placed on top of the chemistry building. assuming plastic owls have feelings. the constant debate and discussion of psychological terms and research papers that we as undergrads have no knowledge on creates the two hours on wednesday afternoons as a sort of daydream/confusion state. if i'm not resting my feet on the maroon cushioned chair in front of me and battling the ever-increasing weight of my eyelids i'm usually staring out the window and thinking about the existence of the forementioned owl. how efficient is it? i never see any other birds up there so i assume he is fulfilling his purpose, but then again, there aren't that many birds on campus. probably due to the fact that they can never land as over 3o,ooo people wander the many pathways and grass patches. [sidenote: raccoons are another story] but what about the owl? i don't even know what his face looks like, i only know the brown and dark red coloring of his back and faux feathers. is he happy up there? it must get terribly cold in the wind and snow. is he bored? he's been fixated to the same spot for at least three years but i don't think it's too presumptuous to believe that number is closer to twenty. i shall always wonder.
